It's a big time question.  When does an artist need a manager?  An artist needs a manager when that artist actually has a career that needs to be managed.

A career that needs to be managed usually includes the artist receiving requests to perform, make appearances, endorsing products, releasing new music for sale and has a promotional schedule, etc.

When an artist cannot concentrate on his/her artistry because to much business is coming in, then it may be time to get a manager.
